Topps Chrome Series 1 Booster Box (Rare Charizard Topper)

This topps chrome booster box holds 30 packs of Pokémon Chrome Trading Cards Series 1. Topps released the set in June 2000. The cards come from the TV animation, not from the trading card game. So nothing inside is playable in the official Pokémon TCG. Animation collectors buy this box for the artwork and the foil finishes instead.

Four finishes inside every topps chrome booster box

The base set holds 78 cards, one for each of the first 78 Pokémon. Every card exists in four foil finishes. Plain Chrome is the standard version. Spectra-Chrome lands in about one of every two packs. Sparkle-Chrome appears in about one of every ten packs. Tekno-Chrome is the scarcest, at about one of every fifteen packs. Across all four finishes, the full run totals 312 cards. Charizard #6 leads the chase list, with Pikachu #25, Venusaur #3, and Blastoise #9 behind it. That four-finish chase keeps pack opening tense to the last card.

Read this before you buy: the wrap has a tear

Honesty matters on a box this old, so here is the condition note up front. The shrink wrap on this topps chrome booster box has a tear. The packs inside stay untouched, but the outer wrap is not flawless. Sealed Topps collectors still hunt this box because clean examples surface rarely. Tekno and Sparkle Charizards drive most of that demand. Browse our other sealed products if you want to compare vintage sealed stock before you decide.
