PSA 10 1999 1st Edition Shadowless Base Charizard Pack

This 1st edition charizard pack is an unopened 1999 Base Set booster, graded PSA 10 and slabbed. Wizards of the Coast produced Base Set, and it released on January 9, 1999. The set holds 102 cards and started the English hobby. So this pack sits at the very top of vintage Pokémon.

What PSA grades in a 1st edition charizard pack

PSA grades the pack itself, never the cards inside. The service verifies the pack’s originality and seal integrity first. Graders then judge pack condition on the standard 10-point scale. A GEM MT 10 pack needs pristine corners and edges, plus a virtually undisturbed seal. It must also keep a fresh, pack-fresh appearance. Finally, every authentic pack sits in a tamper-evident, sonically sealed case.

Artwork, odds, and what could be inside

Only three artworks exist across Base Set packs. Charizard’s wrapper draws the strongest demand of the three. A PSA 10 grade then narrows the field further. Charizard artwork leads the three Base Set pack designs, alongside Blastoise and Venusaur. So a 1st edition charizard pack names the artwork on the wrapper, not a guaranteed card. Each pack holds 11 cards: 1 rare, 3 uncommons, and 7 commons including 2 Basic Energy. Roughly one in three packs held a holographic rare. Collectors chase this slab as a sealed artifact first and a gamble second. Base Set began the game. Pokémon’s official TCG page still anchors that game today, and our graded cards shelf holds the other graded pieces.

Frequently Asked about a 1st edition charizard pack

Does a 1st edition charizard pack guarantee a Charizard card inside?

No. Charizard names the pack artwork. The cards inside stay unknown until someone opens the pack, and opening it destroys the grade.

What exactly does the PSA 10 grade cover?

The unopened pack: its seal, corners, edges, and overall freshness. PSA does not grade or promise any card inside.
