Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Pitch Black Booster Box

This pitch black booster box holds 36 factory-sealed packs from Mega Evolution set ME05. Pitch Black released on July 17, 2026, as the fifth English Mega Evolution expansion. Mega Darkrai ex headlines the set, and night-dark artwork runs through the whole checklist. So the box suits Mega Evolution collectors, rip-and-ship sellers, and sealed holders alike.

Chasing Mega Darkrai in a pitch black booster box

The set holds 120 cards: 84 in the main set and 36 secret rares. Mega Darkrai ex leads six Mega Evolution Pokémon ex. Mega Zeraora ex, Mega Chandelure ex, and Mega Excadrill ex join it on the chase list. English Pitch Black adapts the Japanese Abyss Eye set, which launched in May 2026. Pokémon’s official TCG page carries the full set showcase.

Fresh set, full display

Buyers grab a pitch black booster box early because fresh sets move fastest in their first months. Rip the display, and 36 packs give you real shots at the secret rares. Hold it sealed instead, and you own the headline box of the Mega Evolution block so far. Meanwhile, single packs cost more per pack and rarely match a full display’s pull spread. Our booster boxes shelf holds the other sealed sets for comparison.

Pokémon’s own marketing counts the set at over 115 cards. Collector checklists pin the exact total at 120. Either way, secret rares make up 36 of those cards, a thick slice for one set. That ratio fuels box breaks, because every display holds many secret rare slots. It also rewards patience, since sealed displays age well when chases stay popular.
